We engineered a component that regulates heat in electrical vehicle (EV) batteries, which helps prolong their lifespan. This innovation is a part of our ongoing commitment to contribute towards the advancement of EV technology, making electric vehicles a more viable option for consumers.

With our barrier enhancement technology, we helped pioneer a pill bottle design that significantly reduces plastic usage, cutting down half a million pounds of plastic per year. Despite using less plastic, the high-density polyethylene (HDPE) bottles maintain stringent barrier protection properties necessary for the pharmaceutical industry. This initiative paves the way for future expansions in lighter weight plastics for barrier applications.

Our collaboration with South Plastic Industry Co. Ltd. led to the development of UltraClear^™ PP resin, achieving a clear, anti-fogging polypropylene (PP) lid for microwavable food packaging. Utilizing Milliken’s additives, these lids were thermoformed at lower processing temperatures, which reduced energy use, and created thinner PP lids without affecting rigidity for reduced plastic usage.

Lion Corporation Thailand Limited’s 2030 sustainability vision is aimed at reshaping daily habits for a meaningful impact. In line with this vision, they introduced the Systema Slim Teq toothbrush, a product that supports their commitment to health and the environment. This toothbrush, designed for effective cleaning using 35% less plastic in the handle, required specialized resin to deliver stiffness with its extremely thin handle design—roughly 40% thinner than conventional models. Lion Thailand collaborated with IRPC and Milliken to specify an additive-enhanced resin that would contribute to value-chain benefits like reduced CO2 emissions and better alignment with existing plastic recycling infrastructure.
